Literacy Events Across the Greater Victoria Area
Greater Victoria Alliance for Literacy (GVAL) is so proud to facilitate its second annual literacy celebration event, where we wish to make the community more aware of the many fabulous, enriching and educational literacy services that exist on Southern Vancouver Island.
We start on Family Day (Mon., Feb. 17, 2025) and end the following Sunday. We hope to see you there, as there will be activities for all ages!

A big thanks goes to Hillside Centre for hosting us and for marketing the event. Another shout-out goes to Bolen Books for providing space Superhero Story Time. We would be remiss, if we did not mention GVAL’s funder, namely the Victoria Foundation, which has been a long time supporter of literacy on Southern Vancouver Island. It is wonderful when the different sectors in community can support each other for an honourable cause!
We have a poster on the various activities further below, but here is a little more detail:
- Door Prizes provided by Imagination Library and other goodies for the kiddos, as well as literacy information from our partners can be found at Hillside Centre’s Guest Services
