From February 9-11th, visitors to Hillside Centre can embark on a literary journey by following four different StoryWalk tales. In each StoryWalk, parents and children will read a story by walking (or strolling or skipping) from page to page of a book, which are set up as posters throughout the mall. Upon completion, the ‘Storywalkers’ can head to Hillside Guest Services to claim a complimentary Literacy Goodie Bag (while supplies last), filled with activities and resources to encourage reading and writing. Participants will also have the opportunity to win a free book by entering a draw at Hillside Guest Services.

“Four important local literacy organisations have joined forces to make literacy fun for families,” says Denise Baillet, volunteer with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. “We hope that this event will spark a love for reading and learning that transcends generations.”

This event, made possible by the generous support of Hillside Centre, is proudly presented in collaboration with the Greater Victoria Alliance for Literacy, Dolly Parton Imagination Library (Victoria Branch), Story Studio, and the Victoria Literacy Connection. Admission is free.
